Great home style Chinese food. Really nice folks. Enough said.

Excellent service. Great authentic Chinese food. They don't serve much of the westernized Chinese food here. Open late till 1am every night. Reasonable prices. Convenient location and I am always able to park right outside. I don't think these negative reviews are very accurate. I have never had cold food here and never seen the waitress be very ride, out of the probably 50 times I have been here. In fact they have some of the best service I think as they would remember the way I like my food prepped because of my diet without me reminding them, even though I only go there like once a month.

Food is very well flavored and cooked well. The beef with string beans is especially good, the beef was cooked medium and beans still had some crunch. Overall very good and attentive service.

My wife and I had dinner here on a Friday night in early May 2019. We were traveling south on the interstate from SF to Santa Cruz, and we needed a dinner break. We went to downtown Millbrae and strolled the main street, trying to decide which restaurant to try. We tried Gourmet Village and we were glad we did. It looks plain on the outside and it's easy to miss, and inside it's a no-frills kind of room, but with flat screen TVs on the wall, showing Asian videos primarily. The food was very good: sesame chicken, vegetable soup and spring rolls. The price was good, too -- inexpensive. The restaurant was full on Friday night, all tables occupied. Lots of families with children were eating here, but surprisingly it was rather quiet in the room. It felt relaxing and not hectic at all. In terms of nationality, we were the only non-Asians in the place, suggesting that the restaurant is popular and has a loyal clientele. Service was good, fast and friendly. We would certainly come here again. We're happy customers. Highly recommended.

BEST CHINESE RESTAURANT IN MILLBRAE!!!the food is good, quality-wise, and service is fast.I had order from this place multiple food. Today I ordered a hot and sour soup, THE BEST Hot and Sour I had so far!!’ Tangy, sour-y, pungent, hot!!!! It was delicious and only 6 bucks.And I had their baked sea bass in portugese sauce!!! THE BEST portugese sauce I had so far in my life as well!!!!The food is high quality, delicious!!!!!! Come check their place.

A great place to eat delicious fish soup, bittermelon, egg, and beef dishes, and many other scrumptious dishes. The service is good, the owner is nice, and the staff works hard. We come here a lot for good-quality, and inexpensive Chinese food!

The food tastes so delicious. This restaurant operates by a couple, they are so nice to customers. But they didn't hire any staff to take orders/packing the delivery/clean up tables, they do that all by themselves, which I totally understand because the owner told me it is very difficult to run a restaurant after a pandemic, it is impossible to earn any revenue if they hire staff. BTW, one of the best family restaurants in Millbrae San Mateo.

Stopped here on a whim for the first time. Ordered the salted fried fish filet (fried, battered, tender filet filets--and a generous amount!) It's salty but the name of this dish does indicate it but I like salty. I enjoyed my favorite comfort food, Beef Chow Fun (dry-style, hint of smokiness, good amount of tender beef). I try every Chinese restaurant's chow fun and this one is my new local favorite. They are grateful and thankful for business. Friendly owner. Will order from this restaurant again! Neat and clean, just needs some twinkly lights to draw more foot traffic,, but it has a simple, nostalgic vibe like the restaurants my aunt would take me to in SF Chinatown.
